Blackheath Piano Studio
Cultivating excellence in music performance
N. Tsaldarakis - P. Archontides, co-Directors
Advanced Piano & Violin Lessons in South East London
Blackheath Piano Studio has become the destination for competitive young pianists preparing for independent school music scholarships, national and international competitions, and conservatoire study. Directed by concert pianists and Convivium Records label artists Natalie Tsaldarakis and Panayotis Archontides (Ivory Duo Piano Ensemble) the studio was first established in 2006 in Blackheath, London. Our pedagogy operates uniquely at the crossroads of historical European traditions and modern performance science.
Our Heritage and Lineage: We bridge the golden age of European pianism through our teachers and mentors, with active Imperial College London performance biomechanics research. Natalie is also a published author and her forthcoming book will be published by Routledge (2027/2028): Piano Historiography and Pedagogy in Britain of the 20th c.: Gordon Green (1905-1981).
The studio has been joined since 2025 by Lisa Archontidi-Tsaldaraki, violin. Lisa trained with RAM professors Rodney Friend, MBE (former NY Phil, LSO, RPO leader and one-time pupil of Szeryng) and Hu Kun (private pupil of Lord Yehudi Menuhin). Achieving top marks for Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma, she also has LRAM (teaching diploma) and is currently a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Music, London (as elected SU President).
